Skin: eczema, psoriasis, acne & hormonal skin

Eczema, psoriasis, acne, hormonal skin, rosacea. The skin is rarely just a topical problem. Our practitioners look at the gut, the liver, hormones and stress alongside any direct skincare work.

Understanding

The skin reflects what is happening internally

Eczema, psoriasis and acne usually have an internal driver — often gut and liver, often hormonal, often inflammatory. Topical work can manage flares, but the lasting answer usually sits inside.

Our skin caseload is shared between herbalists (for inflammation, gut–skin axis, hormonal acne) and homeopaths (for eczema with strong constitutional patterns or psoriasis that has resisted other approaches). We match you to whichever route is most likely to help.

How our practitioners help

How our practitioners help

01

Internal anti-inflammatory work

Targeted herbs that reduce systemic inflammation — turmeric, burdock, cleavers and others, selected for your picture.

02

Gut–skin axis

Where the gut is part of the picture (often), gut work and skin work happen in parallel.

03

Hormonal acne

Cycle-aware support for acne that flares around ovulation, period or post-pill — vitex, peony, and dietary work.

04

Topical formulas

Bespoke creams, washes and oils to support the skin externally while internal work takes effect.

Frequently asked

Can I keep using my prescribed steroid creams?

Yes — your practitioner won’t ask you to stop without a plan. The goal is to reduce reliance on steroids over time, not abruptly.

How long until skin clears?

Eczema and acne flares often start to settle in 4–6 weeks. Lasting clearance usually takes 3–6 months — the skin turns over slowly.

Will I have to change my diet?

Maybe. If foods are clearly part of your flares, your practitioner will say so. They won’t prescribe a blanket elimination diet without good reason.

I’ve tried everything — is there really anything new here?

Often, yes. Our practitioners spend longer on the case than most NHS appointments allow, and combine internal and external treatment in ways most other routes don’t.
