Natural Children’s Immune Support

Recurrent coughs, colds and ear infections are exhausting for both children and parents. Herbal medicine offers a gentle, evidence-supported approach to building children’s immune resilience — reducing infection frequency and supporting faster recovery without overuse of antibiotics.

01 · The practice

Children respond beautifully to gentle, age-appropriate herbs.

Young immune systems are still learning — repeated viral infections are part of normal development. But for children getting infection after infection, herbal medicine can help break the cycle by supporting gut health, nutrient status and immune balance.

Safety note

Many herbs prescribed for adults are not suitable for children. Strong adaptogens, hormonal herbs, anticoagulant herbs and sedatives like Valerian and Hops are generally avoided. A registered medical herbalist or paediatric herbalist will only prescribe age-appropriate doses of gentle herbs (Chamomile, Lemon balm, Calendula, Catnip). Never give your child herbal medicine without working with a registered practitioner.

05 · Frequently asked

Questions parents ask us most.

How often should my child be getting colds?

6–8 colds per year is normal under age 5. Frequent ear infections, prolonged recovery, or back-to-back illness warrant a deeper look.

Should I give my child elderberry through winter?

Yes — daily elderberry through winter is well-tolerated and has good evidence for reducing infection severity.

Can I use herbs after antibiotics?

Yes — this is when herbal medicine is most useful for restoring microbiome balance and reducing recurrence.

Can I book online from anywhere in the UK?

Yes — consultations are offered by video and home visits are available in selected areas.
